Who we are

The Babysitter Matchmaker is a personal matchmaking service between families and babysitters in Berlin, operated by Javiera Carolina Concha Torres. See our Impressum for full contact details.

What information we collect

When you register as a family or babysitter, or send us a message, we collect the information you provide in the form — for example: name, phone number, email, neighborhood (Kiez), postal code, information about children or childcare experience, availability, languages, and, for babysitters, an optional profile photo.

How we use it

We use this information solely to review your registration and find a suitable match between families and babysitters. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties beyond what is needed to make an introduction (for example, sharing a babysitter’s contact details with a matched family, or vice versa).

Where it’s stored

Registration data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted in the EU, Ireland region). Email notifications are sent using Resend. Both providers act as data processors on our behalf and are bound by data protection agreements.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and understand how visitors use the site. This may involve Meta setting cookies or using similar technologies on your device. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can learn more about how Meta uses this data at Meta’s Privacy Policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@thebabysittermatchmaker.com.

Data retention

We keep registration data for as long as needed to provide the matching service, or until you ask us to delete it.
